Beauty Tip Tuesday: Manuka Honey Face Mask

I have been so lost in the world of face creams, treatments, washes, and make-up! I have been trying out different solutions to help clear my skin and have had zero success. I drink A TON of water, eat healthy, get fresh air, don't wear makeup everyday, and use a gentle face wash, and STILL my face has been breaking out.

I never look at what is in my face wash, I just assume that they are good and since everyone uses them, they can't be harmful right? Well as I am actively challenging myself to look at what is in my food and live a healthier lifestyle, I should also be looking at what is inside my makeup, lotions, body wash and most importantly, my face washes/lotions.

As I was researching about all natural solutions and alternatives to face wash and hair treatments, I came across an article on Manuka Honey and all the benefits that come along with it.

Manuka honey is a medical grade honey that comes from New Zealand. The bees collect nutrient rich pollen from the blossoms of the Manuka tree and produce a honey the contains high level of medicinal qualities. Manuka honey is highly nutritious, anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial honey that also works as a great acne solution with no side effects.

Along with fighting acne Manuka honey supports and nourishes the digestive system. It is recommended to have 1 tsp an hour before your meals to help stop overeating and keep your digestive system running smooth.

It also enhances your bodies ability to heal minor wounds and infections, just apply topically and it's anti-bacterial qualities help clean the wound and sooth the pain.

Manuka also like other honey's is known to help sooth sore throats.

And MY FAVORITE...... its a natural acne treatment. Apply as a spot remover, facial mask, or a cleanser.

Today I opted for a face mask with some Young Living Essential oil.

Manuka Honey and Lavender Face Mask

1 TBS Manuka Honey

1 drop of Lavender Essential oil

Procedure

Wipe face clean of make-up and put 1 TBS of Manuka honey into small bowl and add a drop of medical grade lavender essential oil and mix until oil is mixed in.

Use you hands to apply face mask and let sit for 30 minutes.

Wash off with warm water and a washcloth, or hop in the shower.

Enjoy!
