Beauty Tip Tuesday: DIY Warm Vanilla Sugar Scrub

Chicago is gloomy, rainy and cold today and it reminds me that winter is around the corner..... sigh. So for my beauty tip this week, I wanted to do something that brings a little cheer to this crappy day and will help fight the dry/cracking skin that come along with the brutal winter that is around the corner.

I decided to do a warm vanilla sugar body scrub with oats to help relax you and smooth your skin. Sugar scrubs are super easy to make at home and a great DIY gift idea for the holidays. You can make a thousand different variations, using different essential oils, food coloring, brown sugar, salt and subbing out coconut oil for different oils like, sunflower oil, olive oil, or baby oil.

This particular sugar scrub is made of everyday items that you most likely already have in your kitchen. You can get fancy with food coloring and essential oils later in the season for cute DIY presents! I know it sounds weird to rub sugar all over your body, I barely eat sugar let alone use it to clean myself but the coconut oil and Manuka honey are great for your skin and the sugar serves as an exfoliant.

Warm Vanilla Sugar Scrub

Ingredients

1/2 cup oats

1/3 cup coconut oil

1 1/4 cup sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/4 cup honey

Procedure

Combine all ingredients in a medium sized bowl and stir until combined. Store in an airtight container and lather yourself with it in the shower for silky smooth skin and relaxing vibes :)

Enjoy!

Store in mini mason jars and wrap in a cute little ribbon and homemade tags for an awesome DIY gift.
