Beauty Tip Tuesday

My hair has taken a beating! Between, having kids, chlorine, dyeing it, dyeing it some more, and using the flat iron; lets just say my hair has seen better days. So I am always looking into and trying things to help repair it or at least give it some love along with all the torture I put it through.

So this weeks beauty tip is a DIY hair mask using only things found in your kitchen! Its an avocado hair mask!

What you need

1 egg (your hair needs protein too!)

1 avocado (good oils)

1 TBS honey (helps treat split ends)

1 TBS olive oil (for shine!)

Directions

Combine all ingredients into a medium sized bowl and blend together until smooth. (I had some avocado clumps and thats fine!) It will be a thicker consistency. Once blended, lather into hair starting with ends and making your way up to roots. I twisted my hair and put it all on top of my head. Let sit for 15 minutes and then hop in the shower and rinse and wash with your usual shampoo and conditioner.

My hair felt heavier after getting out! It didn't feel extra smooth like when I used a store bought mask but it felt more full and as it dried, it started feeling super soft. Once totally dry I noticed my hair looked way less frizzy even without my normal post shower products.

This mask is awesome and although it looks like guacamole and definitely doesn't smell great, it was easy, free and worked wonders.

Try it!
